Amount of fine for speeding photo recording
How much speeding is allowed without a fine in 2020?
Excessive speed is the main factor that affects emergency situations on the roads. Therefore, new developments are being made every day regarding the correction of the excess that is permissible above the norm. For example, for 5 years now there have been debates about the need to introduce a fine even for exceeding the speed limit by 10 km/h. So far this is only an initiative of individual officials. Further on, what kind of speeding on the roads is punishable by penalties and other penalties.
Responsibility when recording a fact by an inspector
The measure of responsibility depends on how much the subject exceeded the permissible limit. The amount of a monetary penalty or other punishment is also influenced by the order of the recorded fact - whether it was the first violation or a repeated one.
Liability for the first violation depending on what the excess is:
- no more than 20 km/h. With this range, the driver is not punished at all; he may simply be given a verbal warning;
- if the speed is exceeded from 20 to 40 km/h, the penalty will be 500 rubles;
- in the range from 40 to 60 km/h they are obliged to pay to the budget from 1 thousand rubles. up to 1.5 thousand rubles;
- when the speed is exceeded from 60 to 80 km/h, the subject may be fined up to 2000-2500 rubles, but may also be left without documents to drive the vehicle. Confiscation period – from 4 months to six months;
- if the speed of the car is 80 km/h or more more than the permissible speed, then the penalty will increase to 5,000 rubles. But they can also leave you without a driver’s license. The period of deprivation will already be six months.
The logic is quite clear: the greater the excess, the greater the penalty or the more severe the liability. In case of a repeated situation (within one year after the initial offense was recorded), the punishment will differ slightly from the initial one.
Punishment for speeding, which is recorded on camera
As statistics show, it is the camera that is the most common detection of speeding. Inspectors rarely punish precisely for these acts.
And there are several positive points here:
- if the fact is recorded by a video surveillance camera, then the driver cannot be left without the right to drive the vehicle in case of any excess. Documents are not taken away;
- if, according to the regulations, the subject exceeded the speed limit by such an indicator that implies deprivation of rights, then the maximum possible monetary penalty automatically becomes the penalty;
- if the excess is equal to the range for which only a penalty is due, then the minimum penalty is applied.
In total, we find that the minimum punishment is 500 rubles, the maximum is 5000 rubles.
Should permission be canceled for exceeding 20 km/h?
You can calm down, the news about the abolition of the permissible range of 20 km/h is some kind of fake. Of course, deputies periodically introduce amendments, developments, etc. for consideration. But so far this is only an initiative of individual officials. No one accepted or approved such amendments to the current legislation. Therefore, you should not believe rumors.
Although it is impossible to say that such an initiative will not become a reality. Back in 2018, there were various instructions from the police and the Ministry of Transport to limit speeding to 10 km/h. But so far such orders have not been fulfilled.
March 1: what is the date and what is the new law?
As mentioned earlier, the Government of the Russian Federation instructed the police to develop and submit for consideration a bill to limit speeding to 10 km/h. And these authorities had to fulfill such instructions before March 1. Therefore, the date 03/01/2019 became the key one that appeared in the media.
So far, no one has adopted any amendments to the Administrative Code that would not allow drivers to exceed the speed limit by 20 km/h without sanctions. Yes, they want to return the norm that was in force in the code before July 2013.
But for now the chronology of such discussions is as follows:
- in February 2019, the possibility of introducing a penalty of 500 rubles for exceeding the speed limit of 10-20 km/h was discussed. At the same time, the police clarified that such a punishment should be introduced only for cities, and the rule should not work on large highways;
- in September 2019, the discussion of this issue was postponed to 2020.
Therefore, the date March 1 is simply abstract. Since its date, not a single new law regarding speed has come into force.
The question as to why introduce a 10 km/h limit is rhetorical. The main factor is filling the budget. It is worth recalling that 10-20 km/h is the most common violation by drivers. And if everyone pays even 500 rubles, the treasury will increase significantly. Who would refuse such a source of additional income?
The government voices, of course, other arguments. Among which are:
- the permissible range of 20 km/h is not always safe, especially within the city. For example, if in an emergency area you need to move at a speed of 40 km/h, and add the same permissible 20 to it, you will get 60 km/h. Do not forget about the permissible errors of 3 km. This leads to emergency situations on the roads;
- According to police representatives, the same 20 km/h plays a big role for a pedestrian involved in an accident. If a car is traveling at a speed of up to 60, then the subject’s chances of surviving are many times greater than if they are hit by a car at a speed of more than 60. Such words are not confirmed by statistics, but there is common sense in them.
But we shouldn’t forget about European driving experience, where there is no such range of excess. Of course, 20 km/h is not the optimal range, but everyone is already accustomed to it. And it will be difficult to switch to another mode. There will be many opponents.
50 percent discount on speeding fines
There is a rule that most citizens know about - the opportunity to save on payment of collection if payment occurs in the first 20 days. Yes, but not all types of speeding offenses qualify for such a discount. For example, most speeding offenses recorded for the second time do not provide the driver with the opportunity to receive a discount.
The following is a list of discounts that can be applied to fines issued for violations recorded on camera.
A similar logic is maintained when the fact is recorded by the inspector.
Camera and speeding: all about video and photographic recording of traffic violations
Many people abuse speeding, because the desire to accelerate faster can be motivated by many reasons - from the reluctance to be late somewhere to the simple desire for the thrill of high speed.
Of course, this in no way excuses the violators, because with their antics they can create emergency situations that will cost money and, most importantly, health, or even the lives of themselves and other road users.
To help the patrol service, they have long been provided with cameras to record traffic offenses, including speeding. And this significantly helps to identify and punish such people who like to speed up in the wrong places.
Punishment for breaking the rules
How much will you have to pay for a speeding fine? The punishment for exceeding the maximum permissible speed is dictated in Article 12.9 of the Code of Administrative Offences. But in this case, if the violation is recorded by a traffic camera, according to Article 4.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences, a minimum fine for excess is imposed. This has a great impact, for example, if a driver’s license was to be taken away for excessive speeding (if the speeding was recorded by traffic police officers), then he will only get off with a fine, albeit on a fairly large scale.
The size of the fine for photographic evidence of speeding is what awaits violators:
- For exceeding up to 40 km/h - a fine of 500 rubles.
- If you exceed it by more than 60 km/h, the fine is already a thousand rubles. For repeated such excess - 2000 rubles.
- For exceeding up to 80 km/h the fine is already 2,500 rubles, and for repeating it – as much as five thousand.
- When the excess exceeds 80 km/h, the fine is also 5,000 rubles.
- If the excess is up to 20 km/h, then no fine will be charged at all.
We talked in more detail about what liability is provided for exceeding the speed limit by 20, 40, 60 km/h here, and from this article you will learn about the size of the administrative penalty for a repeated violation and how you can avoid it.
The principle of detecting non-compliance with traffic rules
The principle of exceedance detection depends on the type of speedometer, which can be radar, laser or video/photo surveillance . Radar systems operate on the Doppler effect: the device directs an electromagnetic wave at the car and tracks its reflection. Based on the data obtained, the speed of the object is calculated, and if it exceeds the allowed threshold, the camera is triggered, and the device software recognizes the license plate from a photograph of the car.
Laser speed meters work on a similar principle, but use a laser beam for measurement. This method is more accurate, but in bad weather the range of its operation is reduced, since drops of moisture in the air can refract light.
Speed cameras work on a slightly different principle. Their features allow you to take frames every 40 ms. After photographing an object several times, it is calculated how far it traveled and how long it took (number of shots). This way the average speed of the car is calculated. And even if the offender has already passed the camera and then speeds up, the camera will still work and record his car and license plate from the rear bumper.
There are two types of recording cameras based on the method of use: mobile and stationary. Each type is armed with photo or video recording of violations, a function for recognizing the license plates of violators, and channels for transmitting the received data to the Automatic Recording Center or to the nearest traffic police post.
Mobile speed meters
Mobile devices for recording speed are used by traffic police officers directly in their patrol area . They are able to record the speed of a car both in the same direction and in the opposite lane. Mobile speed meters are installed along the edges of roads, at a distance of approximately one meter.
Stationary
Fixed devices are used in high traffic areas, mainly where it would be difficult for a living person to patrol. They are installed on special road structures, in the form of poles, or directly on lighting poles.
At what distance does the camera record?
How many meters away does the camera record speeding?
- KRIS-P tripods catch violations 150 meters from the offender’s car.
- The Strelka radar, which is installed above intersections, is capable of detecting an intruder from half a kilometer away.
- All other radars detect violations from a distance of 400 meters (approximately) to the offender’s bumper.
Rules for installing a video recording device
From June 1, 2013, on the road where static cameras for automatically recording violations are installed, a warning sign must be installed, and special road markings must be applied.
In the traffic rules, the sign has the number 8.23, and it shows a camera taking a picture (with a flash), the markings are done in the same form.
By observing such a sign or road markings, you can be completely sure that a camera will be located ahead.
But this does not apply to mobile cameras that record speed violations. Mobile speed meters can be installed at any other time, and therefore, of course, no one will put up signs or draw markings on the road every time. Therefore, these cameras are installed mostly secretly, and sometimes even disguised, so that an unsuspecting violator is noticed and punished.
Before the camera is installed, the administrative authority must issue permission for its installation in a given location . In addition to the location, the permit must contain technical information about the camera itself and its operating mode.
How is an administrative penalty issued?
The speedometer instantly reacts to speeding. The result of this reaction is a high-quality snapshot with data on the speed and date of the violation. This information is redirected to the Automatic Crime Recording Center. Information is processed automatically and, if necessary, manually with the help of operators.
After verification and processing, the data goes to the traffic police server, where it is checked against their driver databases . When the identity of the offender has been revealed, within ten days a “lucky” letter is sent to him, along with the ill-fated photograph and protocol. And the car owner will either have to pay the fine or appeal in court.
Possible system errors and what to do in this case?
The readings from automatic recording cameras may be erroneous, because the equipment tends to work incorrectly or fail altogether. Judging by statistics, almost a third of camera readings turn out to be false. The following factors may affect the accuracy of the data:
- Ice formed on the camera , which can shift the angle of the lens under the weight.
- Ice-covered or fogged camera lenses may result in a blurry image or incorrect license plate recognition.
- When a vehicle quickly moves from one lane to another (for example, when driving a motorcycle), some systems can record the exact speed of the violator, but due to such zigzags, accidentally attribute the violation to a completely unrelated innocent vehicle.
There are even cases when the driver receives a letter with the amount of the fine, but it does not contain a photograph from the security camera. Accordingly, this is a completely groundless accusation, since the photograph from the camera in this situation is the only evidence of a speed violation.
But since the fine from the camera has arrived and has already been issued, it is obligatory to pay; in case of any mistake, all that remains is to challenge it, which the driver has every right to do, even if he really is a violator. What to do if the fine arrived without a photo? Without a photo, the fine will most likely be canceled.
Challenging
How to challenge a traffic police fine from a camera? The driver has every right to challenge the fine if the violation was recorded by an automatic camera . The equipment does not always work perfectly and errors are possible, and sometimes there are situations when the owner of the car is not to blame, for example, if during the violation it was not him, but another person who was driving. It even happens that attackers can put another person’s license plate on a car, and if there is a violation, after checking the license plate, a letter with a protocol will be sent to the true owner of the car with that license plate number.
The driver can file a complaint with the local traffic police department by writing it to the head of the department and attaching the necessary documents and evidence of his case.
also has the opportunity to go to court , for example, if the traffic police were unable to provide assistance in this matter. A complaint to the traffic police is considered within ten working days from the date of its filing, but with the court the case can last up to two calendar months. When submitting it, no state fee is paid.
As a result, the fine on the camera can be canceled, and if the violator was another driver with “left” license plates, his car will be put on the wanted list. But for a successful court decision, solid evidence of innocence is necessary, otherwise the case may not even reach a hearing.
Where can I pay?
You can pay this fine, like any other, at Sberbank branches , using a terminal or the help of an operator. Traffic fines can also be paid at some payment terminals, such as Amigo or Telepei, but this is a less convenient method.
The fact is that when paying, you will most likely have to manually fill in all the data from the protocol and carefully check it, otherwise the money may simply go to the wrong place. In modern Sberbank terminals, all this is much more convenient: they have built-in barcode readers, and after reading it from a document, all information will be automatically decrypted without any errors.
But the majority still prefer a more comfortable way to pay fines - using the Internet and without leaving their apartment. On the Internet, the fine can be paid with a bank card or electronic currency .
You can find out more about how to pay a fine for speeding and whether a 50% discount applies here.
Conclusion
Speed cameras are a great way to monitor traffic. They will not always be able to work perfectly, but they greatly facilitate the work of the patrol service, since they are able to react much faster than a person, and they can work around the clock, unlike him.
But since the percentage of camera errors is still quite large due to insufficient development of technology, fines from cameras are much lower than when a violation is recorded directly by a person. And in case of mistakes, challenging a fine based on video recording, in most cases, will not be difficult.

All about fines for photographic recordings + a way to legally avoid paying
Identification of most traffic violations in many large cities has long been the prerogative of photo and video recording cameras, rather than traffic police inspectors. Traffic police fines for photographic recording now oblige drivers to pay not only for ignoring the maximum speed limit, but also for driving into an oncoming lane or public transport lane, stopping in the area of a prohibitory sign, running a red light, etc.
Peculiarities of making decisions based on data from video cameras
The main task of photo and video recording cameras is still the registration of speed limit violations , especially in the most dangerous areas. Despite all the inconveniences for violators associated with the appearance of these devices, we also note some concessions that the legislation provides for in this case:
- when registering violations using automatic means, fines from video recording cameras are assigned the minimum of all possible fines, unless they are subject to deprivation of rights;
- gross violations of traffic rules, implying driver liability in the form of deprivation of driving license, but recorded by a photo and video camera, are punishable only by the maximum fine, i.e. 5,000 rubles;
- Such a measure of liability as administrative arrest is also replaced by traffic police fines for photographic recording.
Amount of fines for video recording
In other cases, the responsibility will not differ from that which violators usually bear after being stopped by traffic police officers. Let us remind you that in 2019 the fine for speeding from a camera will depend on how much you exceeded this speed in the coverage area of the device:
- Up to 20 km/h - although such an excess is considered a traffic violation, it is not punished ;
- 20-40 km/h – punishable by a minimum administrative fine of 500 rubles. ;
- 40-60 km/h - involves payment of a more significant fine of 1000 rubles. , repeated violation - already in 2000 rubles. ;
- 60-80 km/h - faces a fine of 2500 rubles. if the violation is repeated - 5000 rubles. ;
- More than 80 km/h – 5000 rub. for primary and repeated violations.
Let us remind you that these rules apply only to traffic police fines for photographic recordings. In other cases, fines may be higher; moreover, exceeding the permissible speed by 60 km/h provides for deprivation of driving license as one of the measures.
How to challenge a fine from a photo/video camera
It is possible that you receive fines with photographs for violations committed by a person who has the right to drive a vehicle with you. In this, as well as in other dubious cases, you can challenge the fine from the camera by contacting TsAFAP - the center for automatic recording of offenses. By the way, the person who was driving the vehicle at the time of the violation can also be brought there. If this person confirms what you said, then the decision is made against him, and yours, accordingly, is canceled.
In the center you will watch a video of the moment your car violated traffic rules in excellent quality, and in color. With the help of this video, you can also examine other controversial issues related, for example, to running into a stop line, etc. If the driver believes that the traffic police fines with the photo were issued to him unreasonably, then he will need to write a free-form application-complaint to TsAFAP. By the way, it can also be sent by email, after which the driver will be invited to an administrative review.
If, after a second joint review of all the details, the driver does not agree with the decision, then the case is sent to court, where the judge will make a decision after watching the same video. Usually in such cases the validity of the fine is confirmed, and if you do not pay it within 70 days, the fine will become unpaid.
But you are unlikely to be able to challenge a speed fine from a camera (except for the method described in the video below) , even if you have data from a GPS dash cam at the time the violation was committed. These devices are not certified speed measuring devices, and in court you will be believed less than data from a video recording camera. Therefore, obey the speed limit, and if you do receive a fine, the validity of which you agree with, pay it on time.

Speed limits on Russian roads - fines for speeding
Good afternoon, dear reader.
This article will discuss fines for speeding on the territory of the Russian Federation. I would like to emphasize right away that in some cases, not only an administrative fine from the traffic police, but also deprivation of rights can be used as a punishment for speeding.
At first glance, it seems that maintaining the speed limit in the city is the simplest and most intuitive place in the rules. However, in practice it turns out that even many experienced drivers do not know what the maximum permitted speed is set on Russian roads. As for the size of the fine for speeding, not all drivers know it.
Today we will look at speed limits for all types of roads, as well as traffic police fines for speeding in various situations.
For your convenience, at the end of the article there is a special table of fines for speeding , intended for printing. It will help determine the correct amount of the fine in case of violation.
Speed limit in traffic rules 2019
Speed table on Russian roads
The table is compiled on the basis of paragraphs 10.2 - 10.4 of the traffic rules.
Motorway speed limit
A motorway is a road that has the highest permitted maximum speed:
110 km/h : for cars, category B trucks, motorcycles.
90 km/h : for cars with trailers, category C trucks, buses.
60 km/h : for trucks with people in the back and buses with organized transportation of a group of children.
50 km/h : when towing a motor vehicle.
In 2020, the number of highways in Russia remains small, so not all drivers have had time to get acquainted with this type of road. Motorways are generally in excellent condition and are safe to drive at high speeds.
Maximum speed outside the city
The speed limit outside built-up areas applies to all roads that are not motorways:
90 km/h : for cars, category B trucks, motorcycles, intercity and small buses.
70 km/h : for cars with trailers, category C trucks, other buses.
60 km/h : for trucks with people in the back and buses with organized transportation of a group of children.
50 km/h : when towing a motor vehicle.
Unlike highways, other country roads may be in different conditions. Therefore, you should not drive on unknown roads at the maximum speed limit, because... Unexpected obstacles or poor road conditions can lead to an accident.
Permitted speed in the city
Speed limits apply to all roads inside populated areas:
60 km/h : for all vehicles.
50 km/h : when towing a motor vehicle.
20 km/h : when driving in a residential area, bicycle area or courtyard area.
In populated areas, the speed limit is low, because... they simultaneously contain a large number of vehicles, pedestrians, and various intersections. In addition, visibility in cities is limited by buildings and structures. When driving at a speed of 60 km/h, the driver has time to control the situation and, if necessary, can avoid a collision.
Some drivers believe that the maximum speed in the city is 80 km/h, not 60. The argument is that the fine is imposed only after 80 km/h. This approach is fundamentally wrong, because if an accident occurs in which one of the cars is driving at a speed of 61 km/h, it is this car that will be recognized as the culprit (or one of the culprits, if the second driver is at fault) and it is its driver who will be pay for repairs to someone else's vehicle.
The goal of any responsible driver is not to evade fines, but to prevent possible road accidents. In this regard, I recommend observing the speed limit absolutely always, avoiding even minimal excesses.
Speed limit sign
The general speed limits in force on Russian roads in 2019 were discussed above. However, in addition to them, the maximum speed can be further limited using a special road sign 3.24 “Maximum speed limit” . If there is such a sign, the driver must drive at a speed not exceeding the value on the sign.
Consider a 90 km/h sign posted in a city. Despite the fact that the number on the sign exceeds the maximum speed in populated areas (60 km/h), such a sign is not an error. This sign allows driving at a maximum speed of up to 90 km/h, even in the city. It is installed on safe roads by decision of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation (clause 10.2 of the traffic rules).
Consider a sign with a speed limit of 140 km/h. What should you do if you see such a sign? The essence of the problem is that the indicated sign does not make sense. The maximum speed on roads in the Russian Federation is 130 km/h (clause 10.3 of the traffic rules). This speed cannot be exceeded under any circumstances. So after such a sign in the city you need to drive not 140, not 130, but 60 km/h , because the sign is fake.
Traffic police fines for speeding in 2019 and 2020
Fines for speeding directly depend on how much the driver exceeded the speed limit.
9 violations for which cameras are already fined
Initially, systems for automatically recording traffic violations were planned to be installed in places with high accident rates to “calm down” traffic, but the regions very quickly realized that this method of replenishing the budget was quite effective, so they began to install stationary cameras on the principle “here is where the driver can violate.” Gradually, the systems learn to record more and more violations, disciplining drivers.
It must be remembered that when violations are recorded by automatic cameras, there is a “presumption of guilt”, that is, the driver has to prove his innocence or that the complex is working with errors.
Speed violation
The first cameras were only able to record drivers exceeding the speed limit; they were installed on the borders of populated areas, but today such complexes are installed both within the city and on country roads. The most controversial are the complexes that record the average speed in a certain area. There is no concept of “average speed” in the traffic rules, but the use of Avtodoria, Cordon-Temp and other complexes is recognized as legal, as are fines for them.
According to Art. 12.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia, exceeding the permitted speed by 20-40 km/h, recorded by automatic violation detection systems, is punishable by a fine of 500 rubles. , at 40-60 km/h - in the amount of 1000 rubles, at 60-80 km/h - in the amount of 2500 rubles, if exceeding the permitted speed by more than 80 km/h - a fine of 5000 rubles.
It is worth remembering that if the speed limit is violated at a speed of over 60 km/h, recorded by an inspector with a radar, a driver’s license will also be revoked. In Moscow, the Pit Stop system is being actively implemented against reckless drivers: the violation is recorded by a complex that transmits information to the tablet of the traffic police inspector, who draws up a protocol on traffic violations, after which the materials are sent to the court, where a decision is made to fine the driver or deprive him of his driver's license for up to 6 months.
Entering a dedicated lane for public transport
The pioneer here was Moscow, whose authorities decided to give priority to public transport, allocating separate lanes for it. Later, other cities began to join the capital. Moreover, the days on which you can go to the dedicated lanes (in Moscow these are Saturday and Sunday), as well as the list of vehicles that are allowed, as well as buses and minibuses, to move along these lanes (in Moscow, taxis are equated to public transport), regional the authorities decide for themselves.
In Moscow and St. Petersburg, a fine of 3,000 rubles is provided for entering the public transport lane in violation of traffic regulations. , throughout the rest of Russia - 1500 rubles. (Article 12.17 of the Administrative Code). There is a 50% discount. By the way, many cameras that record access to a dedicated area can also result in a fine for the next violation.
Violation of markings (crossing a solid line)
Initially, such complexes were supposed to wean those who like to turn and leave the roads in the second (and sometimes third and fourth) row. In addition to exits and turns, such complexes began to be installed in tunnels and at the entrance to them.
The fine is issued in accordance with part one of Art. 12.16 Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia, it is 500 rubles. , and there is a 50 percent discount.
Driving on the side of the road
For quite some time now, cameras have been “issuing” fines for driving on the side of the road, and it doesn’t matter whether it is dirt or asphalt. This is how the authorities fight rushers who do not want to stand in traffic jams, and then create even greater congestion by wedging back onto the roadway.
Part one art. a fine of 1,500 rubles for such a violation There is a 50% discount.
Entering a busy intersection
Most serious traffic congestion in major cities occurs because drivers, trying to quickly cross an intersection, actually block it. They do not have time to pass the permitting signal, then the cars begin to move in a perpendicular direction, as a result, traffic stops in all directions.
At first, as an experiment, drivers who entered a busy intersection were fined in a couple of places in Moscow. And this year the concept of “waffle markings” was introduced into the traffic rules. It is enough to be inside it after the prohibitory traffic light comes on, and the camera will immediately record the violation.
The fine will come for violating clause 13.2 of the Russian Traffic Regulations. Most likely, he will be discharged under Part 1 of Article 12.13 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia. It is 1000 rubles. But theoretically, a fine can also be issued for violating marking regulations (part one of Article 12.16 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). It is 500 rubles. In both cases there is a 50% discount.
Violations at pedestrian crossings
Due to the high mortality rate of pedestrians, the fine for not allowing a pedestrian to pass in Russia was increased: today it ranges from 1,500 to 2,500 rubles. (Article 12.18 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). The cameras issue fines of 2,500 rubles. If the inspector almost always interprets the situation in favor of the pedestrian, then the automatic complex begins to “guide” the pedestrian as soon as he steps onto the crossing. At the same time, vehicles are recorded. If the trajectories of the pedestrian and vehicles do not intersect, then there will be no fine.
Crossing the stop line
This year they began to introduce systems that record the passage of stop lines. At intersections, it is enough to cross it with two front wheels, and the complex will record a violation, after which the car owner will receive a fine under Part 2 of Art. 12.12 Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia – 800 rubles. There is a 50% discount. If the corresponding sign is installed in front of the line, the fine will be 500 rubles, a 50 percent discount also applies (Part 1 of Article 12.16 of the Administrative Code).
Driving through a prohibitory traffic light
Cameras began recording this violation relatively recently. Moreover, driving beyond the stop line is also considered passing. Article 12.12 of the Code of Administrative Offenses provides for a fine of 1,000 rubles for this violation. , and for a repeat - 5,000 rubles. It is worth remembering that a yellow traffic light is also prohibitive. In addition, some complexes also detect turning to a prohibitory signal (when the additional section of the traffic light is extinguished).
Recently, cameras have begun to appear at railway crossings that also record passage through a prohibitory signal (even if the barrier is raised, you must wait until the red lights go out). The fine here is the same - 1000 rubles. and 5000 rub. upon repeated violation.
Stopping in a prohibited place
And so that drivers would not be tempted to violate the rules, the entire center was hung with smart Street Falcon cameras. They have a 360-degree viewing angle, distinguish a car stopped in a traffic jam from one that is moored to the curb, record a vehicle stop even for 10 seconds, etc. The fine is issued under Part 4 of Art. 12.19 (“Violation of the rules for stopping or parking vehicles on the roadway, resulting in the creation of obstacles to the movement of other vehicles, as well as stopping or parking a vehicle in a tunnel, except for the case provided for in part 6 of this article”). For this violation, a fine of 2000 rubles is provided. , with the exception of Moscow and St. Petersburg - here it is 3,000 rubles. There is a 50% discount.
There is a scandal associated with the Street Falcon complexes: it turned out that they were not certified accordingly. Deputy Lysakov even demanded that the legality of decisions from such cameras be checked. But, remembering a similar situation around the Avtodoriya complexes, I think that the work of Street Falcons will be recognized as legal.
- According to the plans of the Ministry of Transport, by 2024, 18 thousand complexes for recording traffic violations will operate on Russian roads.
- From November of this year, cameras were supposed to start recording cars without compulsory motor liability insurance. But the experiment never started.
- You can learn about how complexes for recording traffic violations are turned into traffic police traps in this material “Behind the Wheel.”
