How many practical lessons should a driving school have?

How Many Hours of Practical Driving Should a Driving School Have According to the Law 2020

DRIVING SCHOOL where they teach

In 2020, it is planned to combine the stage of driving on the circuit with driving a vehicle in the city. At the same time, maneuvers on the race track will remain as an element of internal control of skill development. At the same time, they will be additionally included in the examination stage of practical driving in the city.

Those who plan to obtain a license should think carefully before postponing this important event to the distant future. The trend that has emerged in the driving education indicates stricter requirements for potential road users.

Driving school – hours of driving, how many hours should be in theory and how many hours in practice

In theory, hours in a driving school are regulated by the recommended training program developed by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. For training in driving category B vehicles with manual transmission, the recommended program provides 56 astronomical hours (28 lessons of 120 minutes each). In practice, a driving course at a driving school may be limited to 15-20 hours.

This situation is due to the fact that in many regions of Russia, driving schools are in conditions of fierce price competition. Dumping leads to the fact that the driving school cannot offer full driving training for the advertised price. Reducing the hours of driving training is the easiest way that most driving schools follow.

How many hours of driving should a driving school have by law in 2020?

The minimum standards for practical driving in a driving school during the training process are enshrined in the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “On approval of exemplary professional training programs for drivers of vehicles of relevant categories and subcategories” No. 1408 dated December 26, 2013. The number of additional hours of practical driving after the student rolls out the established the minimum is determined virtually independently by the student. Each additional lesson is paid according to the driving school tariffs.

The theoretical skills acquired in a driving school must be supported by practical driving skills. This is not so easy to do, and before you become an independent full-fledged participant in the road traffic, you will need to spend a single hour behind the wheel of a training vehicle under the strict guidance of an experienced instructor. The amount of time spent in a training vehicle is not limited, subject to payment, but the minimum hours of practical driving is fixed at the level of federal legislation. What is the minimum number of hours of driving (practice) required by law to attend a driving school in 2020? What law regulates these deadlines? How long does it take to drive depending on the driver’s license category? We will answer these questions in this article.

How long does driving school training last for 2020-2020?

And constantly monitor the progress of your training. We wrote about what will be required of you during the traffic police exam; if you feel that the training is going too slowly (or, for example, you were delayed at the race track), communicate with your training colleagues, instructor, and driving school management.

In order to comfortably pass exams at the traffic police, you need to be prepared for a different car (there are no guarantees that you will take and retake the exam in the same car that you studied) and know the exam route. If at a driving school you are introduced to the exam route, then sometimes this may not be enough (you need to master the exam maneuvers very well). So it’s optimal to plan additional classes for the end of your training at a driving school (you can study at the same time).

Duration of training in a driving school for a category B license

However, it is worth considering that someone may need additional hours of driving or practicing exercises, which will affect the increase in time. Another point is the exam. First internal, then to the traffic police. And, unfortunately, not everyone manages to pass them the first time. In addition, even if the exam at school is passed immediately, it is not a fact that you can go to the traffic police the next day. Most likely, the gap will also take time.

Not everyone, especially working people, has the time and desire to spend so many weeks obtaining a driver's license. Therefore, many are interested in the question: is it possible to somehow reduce this period? It’s worth saying right away that the number of mandatory hours cannot be reduced. This is the minimum that needs to be worked out.

In 2020, drivers will be tested without a “platform”

Although the numbers are still serious. Thus, in Moscow since the beginning of the year, 442 accidents have occurred with drivers whose experience does not exceed two years. Moreover, 144 of them are graduates of capital driving schools. In these road incidents, 21 people were killed and 539 were injured. The most common accident caused by an inexperienced driver is a collision (297 accidents). The most common violation is incorrect choice of distance (95 accidents). But new motorists die on the roads most often due to driving into the oncoming lane.

As Nikolai Gilyakov, head of the traffic police examination department, said, only half of the future drivers managed to pass all the exams the first time this year. And 17 percent of driving school graduates were forced to take retakes more than three times. At the same time, the main stumbling block for potential motorists was and remains the exam in the city. Both last year and this year, only a third of candidates coped with it on the first try. But, as the department notes, the accident rate involving newcomers has decreased by half over the past five years.

How many hours of driving in a driving school?

Since the cost of training depends on the number of hours, carefully also look at what hours the driving school offers you. There are academic clocks, forty-five minutes each, and astronomical ones, sixty minutes each. When you enter into an agreement with a driving school, do not forget to make sure that it indicates both the number of hours and the number of minutes in these hours.

There is no learning process at a driving school without practical driving lessons. But each driving school creates its own training programs, and the cost of training in a driving school will directly depend on the number of driving hours issued by the school. The driving theory will be the same for all programs. Why does the number of driving hours depend, why does this number differ in different driving schools, and how many of these hours should be given out at school by law?

How long does it take to study for a driver's license?

Only accredited driving schools can teach the basics of driving. Such organizations have their own training program, which is approved by the traffic police. According to the updated rules, people at least 16 years old are allowed to take courses in categories “A1” and “M”. You can train for other types of transport from the age of 18.

After the introduction of amendments to driving school training, the price of courses increased by almost 40%. The main “culprits” were several reasons: the growth of foreign currency, the difficult financial situation in the country, an increase in study periods, as well as increased requirements for teachers and equipment for automotive organizations.

How long does it take to study for a license in 2020?

The 190 hours allocated for training at a driving school can be stretched as you like. Theoretically, you can complete it in a month if you do nothing else and devote all your time to studying. Another thing is that for this you will have to negotiate intensive personal lessons with both a theory teacher and a driving instructor.

By doing practical driving three times a week for two hours, you will normally absorb what you are taught. The body (primarily the brain) will be in the right tone. You will not forget what you learned in the last lesson. It’s also not worth exercising more often - it will be rather useless. New skills must fit into your head.

New rules for passing traffic rules in 2020

If the documents have been collected correctly and sent to the examination department, then the person is allowed to take the first part of the exam. It consists of testing theoretical knowledge of traffic rules. At this stage in 2020, some innovations were introduced.

If all previous parts of the exam are passed successfully, then the test taker will be tested on real roads in urban conditions. This stage of the test involves going to the city with an instructor, who gives tasks and evaluates how well the driver completes them.

How long to study for a license in 2020 - by time in months

After completing the course, the student will have to pass an exam consisting of a theoretical part and practice (site, city). It is worth noting that previously maneuvering on the site included three exercises. Now there are four of them. An additional challenge for students will be disembarking a passenger.

The last step on the path to obtaining a driving license is the traffic police exam. At the same time, the driving school conducts an internal examination and testing before him, which is the last step before admission to a serious test. Having visited the State Traffic Inspectorate at the appointed time, the examinee will have to go through theoretical and practical parts. Not everyone manages to pass them on the first try. That is why re-examination can significantly delay the training period.

How long does it take to study at a driving school for a category B license?

Secondly, the changes affected the timing of training. The number of hours has increased - now there are 190 versus 156 previously. According to the legislature, increasing the time spent at the desk and behind the wheel in the company of an instructor will improve the result - namely, the quality of education.

However, any mandatory hours there are – it’s all so vague. I would like to know a specific figure: how many months does it take to study for a license? It depends on the program. Our driving school in Moscow provides a full course of training from registration to obtaining a license in 3 months. By the way, the same driving school almost always provides different options to choose from: with training on weekdays or only on weekends, in the morning and in the evening. This is done so that every person, even the busiest one, can choose the most optimal schedule for themselves. Accordingly, the number of hours per week also differs.

How many hours of driving should a driving school have by law in 2018?

The theoretical skills acquired in a driving school must be supported by practical driving skills. This is not so easy to do, and before you become an independent full-fledged participant in the road traffic, you will need to spend a single hour behind the wheel of a training vehicle under the strict guidance of an experienced instructor. What is the minimum number of hours of driving (practice) required to attend a driving school in 2018 according to the law? What law regulates these deadlines? How long does it take to drive depending on the driver’s license category? We will answer these questions in this article.

Legislative regulation

The minimum standards for practical driving in a driving school during the training process are enshrined in the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “On approval of exemplary professional training programs for drivers of vehicles of relevant categories and subcategories” No. 1408 dated December 26, 2013. The number of additional hours of practical driving after the student rolls out the established the minimum is determined virtually independently by the student. Each additional lesson is paid according to the driving school tariffs.

The number of hours depends on the category of license for which the person is studying, as well as on the type of transmission. When training for the most popular category “B”, the required number of hours of practical driving is 56 hours when driving a car with a manual transmission. At the request of the student and his written application, training can be carried out in a car with an automatic transmission, in which case the amount is reduced to 54 hours, but the cost of training remains virtually unchanged. In addition, for those trained in a car with an automatic transmission, the traffic police exam is carried out in a similar car, and the corresponding mark is placed on the driver’s license and with such a license you cannot drive a car with a manual transmission. At the request of the student, the established minimum cannot be reduced, even if the student successfully copes with practical driving.

Practical driving standards for students of all categories are legally established. For each, this standard is different due to the specifics of the category received and the purpose of obtaining a driver’s license. The driver's license categories and the corresponding driving training standards are presented in the table below.

How Many Practical Driving Lessons Should There Be?

How Many Practical Driving Lessons Should There Be?

But for people who decide to become drivers in adulthood, the art of driving is more difficult. Therefore, more lessons with a professional driving instructor are required, for example, five. Some cadets need more lessons - their number can reach up to 10. The more driving lessons completed, the more confident the cadet feels behind the wheel.

Driving instructor Valery Kulagin notes that the number of required driving lessons is selected individually. As a rule, young people need two to three additional lessons with a driving instructor to improve their weak points and master the basic elements.

How does it work and how long does training at a driving school last?

The first practical training (if you do not count training on a simulator as such) takes place on the site. As soon as you get comfortable there, the instructor will begin to travel with you outside the city, and then conduct classes within the city.

The site is always arranged according to strictly defined rules: there are road markings similar to the real one, an overpass, a pedestrian crossing, a traffic light or an imitation of an intersection with a traffic light and a “Stop” marking, as well as road cones that mark the garage and serve as guides for passing the “snake”.

How many hours of driving should a driving school have by law?

Typically, your fifty hours of driving will include both an internal school driving test and a traffic police test, and the tests take about four hours. Ask for detailed explanations of these points too.

Since the cost of training depends on the number of hours, carefully also look at what hours the driving school offers you. There are academic clocks, forty-five minutes each, and astronomical ones, sixty minutes each. How many hours of driving should a driving school have by law in 2018?

Training for the category of driving a car with a trailer takes the following number of hours: “BE” - 16 hours, “CE” - 24 hours, “DE” - 32 hours. Moreover, the regulatory act provides not only recommendations on the number of hours required for driving lessons, but advice on how to allocate that time. Thus, the legislator distinguishes several stages, including initial training and driving in traffic conditions.

In the first case, 1 academic hour is only 45 minutes, while 1 astronomical hour is 60 minutes. The variety must be indicated both in the contract and in the training program of the selected driving school. If such information is missing, it is worth clarifying further. At the same time, one practical lesson in a driving school is 2 hours. The total number of hours also includes the time of exams at the school itself and the traffic police. The total duration of the exams is 8 hours, which actually shortens the practical course (this is legal). Driving schools follow such a path that part of the practical time, usually 6 hours, is spent not in a training car, but on simulators.

One theoretical lesson lasts on average three hours. The busiest schedule that only relatively free students can cope with is daily classes on weekdays. Total – five lessons or 15 hours a week. The weekend schedule provides two classes per week, or six hours.

How many driving lessons have you taken with a driving school instructor?

20 hours at school, then there was a break for almost a month before the exam, and a day after receiving my license I got behind the wheel alone and went to work. And so every day. In the first month I lost 6 kilograms. i.e. “climbed” everywhere, including Sadovoe during rush hour to the Kursky station, alleys within Bulvarny, etc. But after 1 month of driving like this, the fear disappeared completely. -)

I took it in Switzerland and got 14 lessons of 50 minutes each.
But in general I was a complete zero, I didn’t even know the pedals. My instructor said that on average, girls have 15-20 lessons before the exam. Now I bought a car and drive it every day, ttt, the flight is normal.
I know the rules, I worked on my skills with an instructor. Only cyclists sometimes cause nervous tremors, such a king rides in the middle of the lane, try to go around again.

Is an hour of driving 60 or 45 minutes? Does it include delivery from the driving school to the race track?

I'm studying for category B. I need to skate for 56 hours. There is a document “Individual driving record card for a category B vehicle.” The first lesson on the clock lasted 1.5 hours (90 minutes). Of these, 30 minutes were spent traveling from the driving school to the race track and back. I was driving for 60 minutes.

Is the driving school right? Is it true that an hour of driving is a class hour? Is it correct to include travel to and from the race track while driving? Why should the distance from the racing track to the driving school interest me?

How Many Practical Driving Lessons Should There Be?

The procedure for agreeing with the State Traffic Inspectorate on training (retraining) programs for drivers of motor vehicles, trams and trolleybuses, as well as obtaining a conclusion on the compliance of the training and material base with the established requirements is established by the State Traffic Inspectorate.

Terms and rules of training in a driving school

According to the new rules of training in a driving school, it will be possible to undergo retraining for another category using a shortened version. The choice of retraining program and its duration depend on what category of transport the candidate is admitted to and what category he is applying for. At the same time, he does not have to go through the entire training course for a new category from the very beginning. It is taken into account that he already knows the traffic rules, the basics of road safety legislation, and has driving skills. He needs to study the material base of the new type of transport and the features of its safe operation, as well as a certain number of hours of practical driving.

If the driving school meets all the requirements and standards and has a high percentage of people passing the traffic police exam, then traffic police inspectors can take the theoretical exam and the race track directly at the driving school. But this provision will become fully operational no earlier than the spring of 2015 and will lead to increased competition among driving schools.

How Many Practical Driving Lessons Should There Be?

22 lessons are provided for students who have virtually no driving skills and who have not mastered the driving program. This driving course is best used by people planning to learn from scratch.

The time it takes to complete a practical driving course will directly depend on the choice of program, as well as its intensity. Of course, students who study for two hours four times a week will master the program much faster than those whose plans include two classes a week. In most cases, training lasts on average about two months. In addition, the number of driving lessons will depend on the selected category. Those who are taking a retraining course from category “C” to “D” to category “B” will need to undergo 10 hours of driving. Those students who want to obtain a category “A” driver’s license must complete at least 17 hours of study. For those wishing to receive driver retraining from category “B” to “C”, you need to complete at least 20 hours of practical training. 50 hours of driving lessons is a standard training program for category “B”. It lasts 3 months, but can be reduced to one and a half months if you study the theoretical part on your own. And those who wish to obtain a category “C” license will have to undergo 60 hours of training.

Learning to drive a car: where, when, on what

Now such a number would not work. And not even because there were an incredible number of cars and he would not have been able to drive around the roads so carelessly. Current laws prohibit learning the basics of driving on your own. Externship has been abolished, so from the possible list of options for studying on your own, with a relative, through online courses or driving schools, it is legal, and the only one left is the last one.

An important issue is the choice of time of year to undergo training. Before going to a driving school, figure out when you will study and when you will take the driving test. Typically, training lasts three months. This means that if you study in the summer, you will have to take your driving test in the fall. Accordingly, study in the fall - take the exam in the winter, study in the winter - take the exam in the spring, train in the spring - take the exam in the summer.

Driving hours in driving schools

8. I’m studying at a driving school, now I’m practicing driving. At the end of each lesson, I sign a document for my driving hours. The document says 2 hours, but we ride only 1.5 hours. Is this how it should be or am I just being deceived? Why do they take me half an hour, even though I paid money?

9.4.
If the cadet successfully completed the training and was certified, then your legal relationship with him is over. The terms of the contract have been fulfilled. The absence of a cadet's signature on the driving record cannot in itself be a sufficient basis for the demands he makes. Therefore, you can simply refuse him and let him go to court, where he will be unequivocally denied. You will need to prepare a competent objection to the claim in accordance with Article 149 of the Code of Civil Procedure of the Russian Federation and provide evidence of the cadet’s training and certification. But I believe that he will not go there and is simply bluffing and nothing more, since his demands do not make any sense and the motive for his actions is unclear.

Questions for the driving school, you need to ask them before paying for the training

-How much does it cost to retake the traffic police test with a driving school (the question is especially relevant in 2016). The retake may be free, but you may need to pay for the delivery of a driving school car for the exam (the amounts are very different, they can differ by 5 times). In some cases there may be some significant costs involved. You will have to pay 1,000 (or more) rubles several times, for example, “1,500 rubles for resubmitting documents to the traffic police and 1,500 rubles for submitting a car” for each retake (a real example of October 2015, the city of St. Petersburg).

How Many Practical Driving Lessons Should There Be?

— It is impossible to answer the question unequivocally. It all depends on the person and his individual perception of information . Our driving school provides programs with varying numbers of driving hours (from 20 to 60 hours of practice). You can find out more about the programs in the Programs and Costs section. If the number of classes you have chosen seems small to you, you can always use the services of our instructors and take additional driving lessons

— Without having a Kyiv registration, you can of course study at a driving school, but to pass the exam you will need a certificate from the traffic police at the place of registration (registration in your city) stating that your license was not issued or withdrawn. It should be obtained immediately before the exam, since this certificate is valid for 14 days. After receiving these documents, you can take the exam at the MREO traffic police in Kyiv. How many driving lessons does it take to learn to drive well?

Plan your basic driving so that you have time to take additional lessons. For example, you took the first lesson - touching. In the second, when you have not yet mastered it, you will already be taught how to change gears. The result is extremely ineffective learning. So, try to take at least 3-4 additional lessons between these two classes, or find a car on which you can practice starting well. Feeling the clutch is the most important thing at the initial stage, this skill is not achieved by simply saying “don’t drop the pedal.” This is muscle memory, a reflex, this can only be achieved through repeated practice. And the big morons are the instructors who yell at the “deaf” cadets. Yelling won't help here - the person must calmly practice the skill. You need to be able to start both on a slope and on a level surface, you need to be able to do this “without gas” and only with the “clutch”, but this can only be achieved through repeated practice.

You also need to be able to change gears. For example, when entering a corner, you should downshift in advance. Do not put in neutral when approaching a traffic light. Hold the lever correctly so as not to confuse the speeds and not to loosen the slide. Intuitively, without looking down, change gear depending on the speed and load of the engine. Understand what engine braking is on descent and ascent. This is also achieved only by working out, for 10-15 hours, at least. And let the drivers who believe that they know how to drive continue to smile. In practice, more than half drive incorrectly, which creates a danger to other road users and leads to transmission and gearbox breakdowns.

When does driving school start?

It is advisable that the driving school provide such a service as a trial lesson. It may be paid. If you express a desire, a trial lesson may be provided at your request. It is also important to establish contact with your driving instructor. If contact is established, you will quickly and efficiently learn to drive a vehicle. There is an unspoken rule - the main thing is not the choice of a driving school, but the choice of a driving instructor.

As a rule, driving in any driving school begins in parallel with theoretical classes. Each driving school starts learning to drive differently. However, there is one condition - it must begin 2 months before passing the exams at the traffic police .

Is an hour of driving 60 or 45 minutes? Does it include delivery from the driving school to the racing track?

kiav » 04 Aug 2015, 22:19

I'm studying for category B. I need to skate for 56 hours. There is a document “Individual driving record card for a category B vehicle.” The first lesson on the clock lasted 1.5 hours (90 minutes). Of these, 30 minutes were spent traveling from the driving school to the race track and back. I was driving for 60 minutes.

At the driving school they tell me that 56 hours are academic hours (45 minutes each). And that delivery to the race track is my problem. If I drive with an instructor from a driving school, then this time is taken into account in the driving time.

Is the driving school right? Is it true that an hour of driving is a class hour? Is it correct to include travel to and from the race track while driving? Why should the distance from the racing track to the driving school interest me?

Practical training, in principle, begins at the race track. The only exception may be the first exercise “Landing, operating the controls” (I don’t know what it does in the title). It’s true that it’s hard for me to imagine what to do during this exercise for two hours. That’s why the first practical lesson was at the race track (they didn’t ask me where, but I agree with that).

The question is whether I should get to the race track or to the driving school myself, and the further journey to the race track is no longer my task.

This issue is not covered in any way in the agreement. Neither at the expense of the student nor at the expense of the school. Nothing is just said.

56 hours is 56 * 45 = 2520 minutes? Or 56 * 60 = 3360 minutes?

The contract states “56 hours of practical driving lessons, including exams.” With proper skill, this can be interpreted the way it was explained to me at the driving school (including a trip to the site). That’s why I asked how to understand this in general. This is about practical driving. Is this still driving?

12/07/2013 — 15:42 Question author: Safar
Please tell me how long driving a car (the driving itself) should take in minutes. And which article of the law should I follow here?

The current Model training programs for drivers of various categories do not establish the duration of an hour of driving. Thus, an hour of driving and an hour of theoretical training in driving schools is equal to 45 minutes, just like an hour in any educational institution. This time should not include time for summing up results, completing documentation and changing trainees.

Each driving school must have an internal document approved by the management - Methodological recommendations for organizing the educational process. This document must also establish temporary standards for an hour of practical and theoretical training for a given educational institution, but not less than 45 minutes.

For those interested, more details.

By Order No. 278 of September 30, 2008, Model training programs for drivers of vehicles of various categories were put into effect.

The explanatory note to these Programs established a temporary difference between the duration of an hour of theoretical and practical classes:

“The duration of an academic hour of theoretical and practical classes is 1 academic hour (45 minutes), and when learning to drive – 1 astronomical hour (60 minutes), including time for summing up the results and completing documentation.”

This order, and along with it the texts of the Sample Programs, together with explanatory notes to them, have lost their validity on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated October 13, 2010 No. 1019 “On declaring the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated September 30, 2008 No. 278 “On the introduction of Model training programs for drivers of vehicles of various categories.”

June 18, 2010 N 636 Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated June 18, 2010 N 636 “On approval of Model training programs for drivers of vehicles of various categories” put into effect Model driver training programs that are still in effect today. In the texts of the programs there is no division between astronomical and academic hours, just as there is no such division when studying theory and mastering practice in other educational organizations.

Can you go into more detail?

The length of working time for educational workers is established by the REGULATIONS
on the peculiarities of working hours and rest time for teaching and other employees of educational institutions (Approved by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia dated March 27, 2006 No. 69).

In particular, in the section

II. The working hours of teachers, lecturers, additional education teachers, trainers and teachers of educational institutions during the school year are determined by the duration of the training session:

“The normalized part of the working time of employees conducting teaching work is determined in astronomical hours and includes lessons (training sessions) (hereinafter referred to as training sessions) regardless of their duration and short breaks (changes) between each training session established for students.
In this case, the number of hours of the established training load corresponds to the number of training sessions conducted by the specified employees with a DURATION NOT EXCEEDING 45 MINUTES.”

Driving hours in a driving school, additional driving lessons (extras)

I have repeatedly dwelled on the number of hours of driving during training at a driving school, but since the question of how many hours of driving should be in a driving school arises, I will constantly collect all the information on this issue in one text.

How many hours of driving are there in a driving school training program?

Training in a driving school is regulated by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (Ministry of Education and Science of Russia). It issued order No. 1408 dated December 26, 2013. Moscow Registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on July 9, 2014 Registration No. 33026 “On approval of model vocational training programs for drivers of vehicles of relevant categories and subcategories.”

You can read about the driving school training program here:

The full text of the order can be found here:

The order regulates the main aspects of the driving school training program, including the number of driving hours during the training. For cars falling under category B, with a manual transmission, this is 56 hours of driving, for cars with an automatic transmission, this is 54 hours of driving. For cars falling under category C, we are talking about 72/70 hours of driving, respectively. Next, I will always write about category B vehicles with manual transmission.

Driving hours, recommended driving school training program

Duration of an hour of driving, how many lessons should there be

The order clearly states that an hour of driving is an astronomical hour (60 minutes), and not an academic hour of 45 minutes. Since the driving lessons are double, the program consists of 28 lessons of 2 hours each.

The ratio of classes on the site and in the city according to the program

This issue is also described in detail, according to the program recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science: 12 lessons (24 hours of driving) at the racing site and 16 lessons (32 hours of driving) in the city.

Another 2 hours are allotted for the exam.

Driving hours in driving school in practice

The approximate program from the Ministry of Education is a theory; the practice of teaching in a driving school is completely different. Describing the situation with driving lessons in Moscow and St. Petersburg, I described the situation in detail. I will try to describe the situation for all regions of Russia.

In most regions of Russia, driving schools operate in conditions of fierce price competition and dumping is widely used (students choose a driving school based on price and, accordingly, driving schools advertise the minimum price for training). For the stated price of training, from 17,000 rubles to approximately 25,000 rubles (the numbers are arbitrary and depend on the region, they can vary greatly) it is not possible to study according to the recommended program.

Why this situation arose (price competition of driving schools) can be read here:

Such prices do not allow the driving school to offer a full driving training program, including 56 astronomical hours of practice behind the wheel.
We are not even talking about the most common format of full training - 24-26 lessons, 1.15-1.20 hours each. It may turn out that 12-15 lessons of 1 hour are expected. And you need to understand that the cost of a course at a driving school and the cost of obtaining a license are sometimes completely different figures. The lower the cost of a course at a driving school, the greater the likelihood that additional payments will arise. What else you sometimes have to pay for is described in a separate material.

From the point of view of the number of driving hours, all driving schools can be divided into several groups, the classification is quite simple - it has only two parameters - the number of driving hours in the training program and whether the driving school is trying to extort additional money from students by imposing additional paid classes or some other paid ones services.

Options for the number of driving hours in driving schools

Full program schools

28 lessons of 2 astronomical hours are extremely rare, I have only heard rumors about the existence of such driving schools.
In practice, good training conditions are 24-26 lessons while driving a car, 1.15-1.30 minutes behind the wheel.
Such driving schools can be considered full-fledged. 28 lessons are reduced due to the fact that it is indicated that one or two lessons go to the exam (internal and at the traffic police), 1-2 lessons go to the simulator. An hour of study is treated as academic.

Schools with a reduced curriculum

If for the price of the course it is not possible to provide a serious amount of driving training, driving schools reduce classes as best they can. There are two approaches here - the first, “honest”, driving schools say that they do not have 56 hours. The second approach is that they say 56 hours, but in practice they spend 15-20 lessons, coming up with things like - 15 minutes to formulate a task for a lesson, 15 minutes to discuss the results of a lesson, etc. Exclusion of some topics as optional, such as we do not drive with a trailer, we exclude classes, etc. Naturally, this is all misinformation, and often outright deception.

The obvious option is to advertise two training options; the full program and the shortened one are excluded under current legislation; the training program in a driving school must comply with the standard.

Ways to extort money at a driving school

There is only one main way to extort money: mandatory paid additional classes to retake the internal exam at a driving school. The algorithm is simple - you do not pass the internal exam; to retake, you need to take 1-5 additional classes costing from 1-2000 rubles to 5-7000 rubles.

You need to understand that failing an internal exam is not a problem, especially considering that the regulations for the internal exam at a driving school may differ from the regulations for the traffic police exam.

And you have nowhere to go; without a driving school diploma, you cannot take the traffic police exam.

That is, the conditions for retaking the internal exam need to be clarified when choosing a driving school. If you haven't done this, then study:

There may also be attempts to extort money to retake exams at the traffic police, but here everything is simpler, having a diploma from a driving school you can take the exam at the traffic police yourself.

Also, additional payments may arise when choosing the timing of driving lessons. If you need to study in the evening or on weekends, then you might be asked to pay extra; an additional payment of 10-200 rubles per lesson is plus 4000-5000 rubles to the cost of the driving school course.

What kind of driving schools are there (how do driving hours differ in driving schools)

Accordingly, there are three main options for driving schools:

1. Full-time driving school
2. Driving school with a shortened program without extortion
3. Driving school with a shortened program with extortion

Sometimes there is also a 4th group - a full-time driving school with extortion, but this is rare.
When choosing, it is critical not to encounter a driving school with obvious extortion.

When choosing a driving school, carefully read all the documents you sign; words in this case are worth nothing.
During your training, pay close attention to what you sign, especially when signing for driving lessons.

Driving simulators

Car simulators have become widely used in driving training; they allow you to develop some basic driving skills. 1-2 lessons, maximum 3 lessons can be considered acceptable.

The ratio of activities on the site and in the city in practice

As written above, the recommended program recommends conducting 12 classes at the racing site and 16 classes in the city. In the event of a reduction in the volume of training, the reduction usually occurs due to classes in the city, that is, a situation may arise: 12 classes on the site and 8 in the city.

Hours of driving, on the circuit and in the city

The recommended program involves sequential training, first the race track, then the city; this is not the best practice.

Additional driving lessons (extras)

If, after completing the training course, you feel that you have not learned how to drive a car and are not ready to take the traffic police exam, it makes sense to take additional classes.
You need to cut out the extras that you chose or that the driving school imposed on you. If you are satisfied with the instructor who teaches you at the driving school, then you can often negotiate with him directly, not only through the driving school

Additional driving hours to familiarize yourself with the traffic police examination route

During training on the traffic police examination route, on the one hand, you learn to drive, on the other hand, you become familiar with the route. In the final stage, training is the optimal way to prepare. In order to get acquainted with the route, 2-4 hours of driving is usually enough. It makes sense to try different cars along the route, so taking lessons from different instructors is a good idea.

How many hours of driving does it take to learn to drive/pass the test?

Naturally, this is a rhetorical question and there is no clear answer to it. In my opinion, there are 24-26 lessons of 1.20-1.30 minutes each, of which about 20 in the city allow you to learn how to drive a car.

There is a semi-imperial rule that the number of classes should be equal to the student’s age divided by two, the numbers here are also very individual, but the idea that later learning is much more difficult is correct.

Sometimes people who teach driving say that 56 hours is not enough.

You can understand how much you personally need only after starting your studies; control the learning process; if something goes wrong, change your approach to learning.

I refused the entire site and the city for 24 astronomical hours, and the time sheet is all closed. The instructor says this and there are 56 hours because... after every mistake I make, he must stop and tell me what and how and scare me, i.e. the rest are theory type watches. I rode for 2 hours astronomically 3 times a week, and signed in 4 hours. Explain what rules of law the instructor violated?

Yana, greetings!
Naturally, it’s a lie on his part, but by signing 4 hours in advance, you complicated the situation for yourself. First, read: Mistake in choosing a driving school, what to do if problems began during the training process or at the internal exam of a driving school
Signs of fraud when studying at a driving school and what can be done in such a situation
It is critical to understand this is the initiative of a particular instructor or the driving school as a whole.
Did I understand correctly that there were 12 lessons of 2 hours each and that was it? How many of them are on site, how many are in the city. In what city does this take place and how much did the driving school course cost and what does retaking the internal exam look like?

Yes, you understood everything correctly: 12 lessons, 2 hours each, of which 7 hours were astronomical on the site. Driving school Crimea is called, but it was produced in the Crimea, Simferopol. Even with this, I’m ready to go to court. If only I knew the specific standards where it is clearly stated that for 56 hours I have to drive, and not sit behind it and listen to lectures on what I did while driving, not exactly as the instructor claims

Greetings!
The recommended training program at a driving school can be found at the link: Training program at a driving school
Plus, you need to clarify all the documents available at the driving school.
And perhaps it makes sense to simply try to get a driving school diploma and complete your studies privately.
Especially if you can take exams without a driving school, directly to the traffic police. It’s critical that they stop extorting money, if the instructor doesn’t want to teach, then he’s unlikely to teach you anything.

My instructor doesn’t want to study! He was sick for a week or two, then he came and it’s like he’s not going to work these hours! According to the program, he has to skate with me for 56 hours, but in a month he skated 26 hours, is this normal? And in a couple of days we have an exam in the traffic police. At the driving school they said that until we get these hours back, there won’t be an exam, what do you think? The exam is on the 20th at 8 am, it will be a bayonet, but I don’t really know how to drive

Greetings!
It's not normal, but it happens. Read for starters: A mistake in choosing a driving school, what to do if problems began during the training process or during the internal exam of a driving school
Signs of fraud when studying at a driving school and what can be done in such a situation
There are several options here, one is that he wants you to sign for something that has not been driven. In the texts above, everything is described in principle - read, if you have questions, ask.
