I bought a new car, what should I do next?

A dream came true - we bought a car! What to do next?

A car enthusiast purchased a car under a sales contract - what next? If a person makes a purchase for the first time, then this is the question that begins to interest him. If we consider the procedure in detail, it is standard and uncomplicated. The main rule to remember is that you should register your car within 10 days.

What actions should you take next if you bought a used or new car under a purchase and sale agreement?

After purchasing a used car or a new one from a dealership, you need to perform the following steps:

  1. Pass a technical inspection.
  2. Take out a compulsory motor liability insurance policy.
  3. Register the car with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate.

In 2018, the law allocated 10 days for all these actions. For violation of this deadline by citizens, a fine of 1500-2000 rubles was established in accordance with Art. 19.22 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.

Passing maintenance

A technical inspection is a diagnostic of the condition of the machine to ensure that safety conditions are met. According to the inspection results, the car is allowed to move or not.

Based on the instructions in clause 1, part 2, art. 15 No. 170 Federal Law, for three years a new vehicle is exempt from technical inspection, these include:

  • motorcycles;
  • semi-trailers;
  • trailers;
  • trucks weighing up to 3.5 tons.

Further, passenger vehicles aged 3-7 years undergo maintenance once every 24 months , after 7 years - every year. If faults were identified during the inspection for the first time, the car owner is given 20 days to eliminate them, then a repeat diagnosis is carried out.

Where to go and who has the right to check maintenance?

On January 1, 2018, Federal Law No. 170 came into force, which states that maintenance can be done at special stations that have received accreditation from the Russian Union of Automobile Insurers (RUA) for the right to engage in such activities. These can be both legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. You can find out the list on the RSA website http://oto-register.autoins.ru/oto/.

Only the car owner or his authorized representative can come to the inspection; you need to have a package of documents with you:

  • personal passport;
  • car registration certificate or PTS;
  • power of attorney if a representative came for the inspection.

A specific amount for maintenance is not provided by law , so it is set by each individual subject of the Russian Federation. For example, in Moscow, a technical inspection of a car costs from 720 rubles, in St. Petersburg from 500 rubles.

After passing the MOT, the owner of the car will be given a diagnostic card - a document in A4 format. It contains all the necessary parameters of the car in the form of a table, and also indicates the conclusion of a specialist on the possibility or impossibility of operating the vehicle.

Registration of compulsory motor liability insurance

The MTPL policy is a mandatory document, without which no driver has the right to participate in road traffic. According to the new rules, the car will not be registered with the traffic police until this document is issued . We'll tell you how to do this.

  1. Collect documents:
    • Passport.
    • PTS.
    • VU of all drivers who will be included in the MTPL.
    • Diagnostic card (document confirming maintenance).
    • Power of attorney if you are not the owner.
  2. Visit the insurer's office:
    • We are writing an application for issuing an MTPL policy - the form will be issued at the office. If necessary, the manager will help fill it out.
    • We pay and receive the document in hand.
  3. Verification of documents:
    • The policy must be stamped and signed with the correct date - you must endorse it.
    • Receipt of payment.
    • Notifications in case of an accident - they give out 2 forms, then you can take another one.

Since 2017, you can issue an electronic policy , for this you do not have to visit the office, just go to the website of the insurance company you have chosen. You can also use the “State Services” portal, where you can apply for and pay for compulsory motor liability insurance.

How long can you drive without insurance?

Based on the legislation on the MTPL insurance policy of the former car owner, the new owner of the car can drive for no more than 10 days. We wrote about this in more detail in another article.

Registration of a car in MREO

Whatever car you buy - new or used, it must be registered, otherwise you may receive a fine. Before going to the traffic police station, prepare:

  • passport;
  • write a statement;
  • take PrEP and PTS;
  • registration plate when buying a used car;
  • OSAGO;
  • receipt of payment of state duty.

If the owner’s representative will register the vehicle, he must take with him a notarized power of attorney. Let us describe the registration process, it consists of the following:

  1. submission of all documents to the traffic police MREO;
  2. inspection of the vehicle and all its components by an inspector;
  3. issuance of a certificate and license plates if you decide to change them.

Since 2017, you can complete state registration much faster by using the State Services portal . You can write an application online and schedule a time that is convenient for you to visit the traffic police. In addition, until the end of 2018, you can get a 30% discount on registration fees through State Services.

How many days are you allowed to drive without license plates?

In 2018, the deadlines became stricter and the vehicle must be registered within 10 days after purchasing the car. You will find all the details on this topic in a separate article.

What actions aimed at improving the car should be taken first?

It is worth understanding that after purchasing a used vehicle, it is necessary to carry out diagnostics, despite the fact that the former owner claims that the car is in perfect condition. Do not forget that a clean car is not always good, since a purely visible gloss is applied to hide flaws.

Therefore, after buying a car second-hand and state registration, you need:

  1. Comprehensive car diagnostics. Even if the car looks good, do not forget that it has mileage and it is unknown how the owner treated it. Take your “iron friend” to a service station if:
    • the car has expired warranty or is more than 5 years old;
    • The vehicle looks suspicious;
    • the car has weak points.
  2. Changing filters in the car. The first step is to change all the filters in the car, since often the old owner does not do this before selling a used car. These actions should not be neglected; do not forget that the life of the car depends on this. Need to replace:
    • fuel;
    • filter in the gearbox;
    • air;
    • fine filter;
    • oil.
  3. Car wash. It is better to carry out a complete cleaning of the interior after purchase and see what condition it is in; special attention should be paid to the place under the wings.
  4. Replacing fluids. All fluids must be replaced immediately; you should understand that no one does this before selling a car. Moreover, you will be changing all the filters.
  5. Replacing tires. This should only be done when necessary. This also applies to wheel balancing. During a full diagnosis, the technician will tell you whether you need it or not. It is mandatory to change only those tires that do not correspond to the season. For example, you purchased a car in late autumn, and the wheels have summer tires.

Any traffic police department can register a vehicle , and it does not matter in which city the former owner lived. Even if you bought a car in another subject of the federation, you can register it in your city. Registering a vehicle is not difficult, it is important to approach this issue correctly. Use the step-by-step instructions described above.

How to buy a new car at a dealership? What do you need to know?

Before purchasing a new car, you need to prepare . And it’s not just about carefully choosing a car.

The future car owner should know all the intricacies of purchasing a new car.

How not to let sellers rip you off? Let's look at the procedure for buying a new car at a car dealership.

How to register the purchase and sale of a car according to the new rules in 2019?

Choosing a car dealership

How to buy a new car at a dealership? First you need to determine which dealership is worth buying a car from.

Check out reviews online. Many experts advise choosing more serious sellers - large chains of car dealerships or trading platforms of official dealers of automobile companies.

Competition among car dealerships is growing, and everyone strives to offer potential clients the most interesting conditions. In the price list of a car dealership you can often see a very low price for a car, compared to prices in other car dealerships.

If you come across an offer to sell a car at a super low cost, check whether the stated price includes 18% value added tax. But this method is usually used by “gray” dealers.

It is safer to buy a new vehicle from an authorized dealer . You should not give preference to the nearest car dealerships with a bright name. It is better to look for information on the official website of the manufacturer.

Go to the website of the selected car dealership, read the reviews of its customers online. The cost is stated on the official website of the automaker. There you can also find all possible configurations and options for additional equipment.

Call the car dealership in advance and ask questions: is the car you are interested in available, what configuration, how to order . You should remember the employee's name or write down his mobile number, if possible.

If actual conditions do not correspond to those promised, you can complain about the manager to his management.

Do not neglect to test drive the chosen or similar car you want . If you are not allowed to drive it, sit behind the wheel, put your feet on the pedals, read the instructions.

You will quickly understand whether you are comfortable in this car or not. Let's look at what you need to know when buying a car at a dealership.

Other stages

  1. Selecting a car . Collect complete information about the car you want to purchase. Use the information from the manufacturer or its official representatives. Sellers can deliberately inflate or understate the technical characteristics of a vehicle, making the car more attractive to the buyer. When is the best time to buy a new car? By the end of the year, production of models ceases. Production will be reoriented for updated new models. Previous versions may be sold at a significant discount.
  2. Agreement. The terms of the purchase and sale agreement concluded must meet your interests. Take your time and calmly read the contract. No one has the right to persecute you, do not miss a single point, pay attention to the notes indicated in small print. Do not sign the contract if any of the conditions do not suit you or do not correspond to the assurances of the managers. Also, do not sign a document if it does not contain any essential information. Most car dealerships have standard contracts, and you will hardly be allowed to change its contents. But you need to understand the following aspects:
    • car delivery times (clearly recorded in calendar days);
    • the amount of the advance, the procedure for returning it if the buyer refuses to buy the car due to the fault of the seller;
    • complete modification of the model, according to which the exact factory equipment is installed.
  3. Payment . In addition to the cost of the car, the buyer will have to make many other payments: loan processing, CASCO insurance, compulsory motor liability insurance, maintenance costs, state fees for registering the car with the traffic police, additional sets of tools, options (replacement disks, security system, etc.), fire extinguisher, first aid kit and much more. other. The amount of such payments can be up to 15% of the cost of the car.
  4. Choose a car with the necessary options . Many managers are silent about the possibility of installing additional equipment, and then begin to recommend improvements and modifications for an additional fee that you do not need.
  5. Sometimes the buyer has to wait some time before purchasing for the car to be delivered. Some managers confidentially report that such a model is now in stock, and you can get it now, but pay extra on top, since it is intended for another buyer. Don't get involved. It is likely that such a car has been rejected, but for what reason is unknown.
  6. The car must be picked up after checking and inspecting the car completely . Check for scratches and dents in bright light. Ask to change the lighting too. Check the numbers of the main components of the car with the registration certificate, check the completeness of the engine and chassis. Any units may need to be replaced. Check the operation of the engine, lighting equipment, all additional equipment, engine oil, coolant and brake fluid, and the presence of gasoline.

Before deciding to buy a car, you also need to know how they deceive you at car dealerships when buying a new car.

Price discrepancy

Quite often on various forums you can find a complaint that the client arrived at the salon, chose a model, and made a deposit. But the time has come to pick up your car and pay the full amount, and then it turns out that the cost has suddenly increased.

Why are prices rising so sharply? And how else do car dealerships scam their customers?

There are many reasons:

  • the promotional vehicle was not in stock;
  • the car is equipped with additional options, they are not included in the promotional price, but you will have to pay extra for them;
  • VAT is not included in the advertising price.

Clients are indignant and try to return the deposit, but they are refused, citing the presence of a clause in the signed contract: in case of refusal, the buyer must compensate the salon for a penalty for terminating the contract.

The amount of the penalty is usually the amount of the deposit or part thereof. Not everyone wants to part with their deposit.

But such a requirement can be challenged and even moral damages can be incurred, as well as the center’s employees can be held accountable.

Article 12 of the Law of the Russian Federation “On the Protection of Consumer Rights” states that the buyer has the right, within a specified period, to refuse to fulfill the terms of the purchase and sale agreement. He may demand the return of the deposit and compensation for moral damages.

You can impose a fine on a car dealership by filing a complaint in writing to the territorial body of Rospotrebnadzor.

Also on the client’s side is Article 165 “Causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation . The application can be submitted to the district police department.

Don't take the matter to the courts. You just need to remember that you should not sign documents and make a deposit until the car dealership employees document the availability of the car at the stated advertised price and in the appropriate configuration.

Refurbishment

The client chose a car, but it turns out that the car in this configuration is not in the showroom, but it is possible to order it for production.

The client agrees to wait a couple of weeks, makes a deposit, and signs the contract. After some time, the buyer discovers that the stated amount is not true.

It has increased due to additional options installed at the manufacturer. The buyer will have to pay extra, demand a refund of the deposit, or solve the problems he encounters according to the scheme noted in the previous paragraph.

It often happens that a car is completed directly in the showroom . The employees simply equip it with equipment and it’s not a fact that it’s branded. The client pays for branded equipment, but what is installed is much cheaper. The car dealership takes the difference.

Before signing a contract and making a deposit, inquire whether they will provide you with documentation for additional options with factory prices. If you receive a refusal, you should think about it.

Exchange rate fluctuations

Dealers often benefit from such fluctuations in the ruble exchange rate.

According to Russian law, sellers must indicate the price in Russian rubles, but car dealerships indicate in their price lists: “the price is indicated in rubles, including VAT per unit of goods, at the commercial rate of 36 rubles/dollar. USA and may be changed by the seller on the date of conclusion of the contract."

The client signs an agreement at the commercial rate on the day of the transaction, which is likely to increase, as will the final cost of the car. It is more difficult to defend your rights here.

Other ways to cheat

What to look for when buying a new car at a car dealership? Some completely unscrupulous dealers sell cars with defects.

The vehicle may be issued in a room with poor lighting. A dent or scratch may not be noticeable.

If the slightest defects are discovered immediately upon delivery, note them in the vehicle acceptance certificate. The law allows you to demand a reduction in value to compensate for existing shortcomings.

Insurance at a car dealership can be much more expensive . It is better to find out about car loan programs at different banks if you are buying a car on credit.

What to check? Pay special attention to:

  • final cost of the car, payment procedure;
  • exact description of the vehicle (make, model, VIN, body number, color, production date, etc.);
  • terms of delivery and delivery of the car to you (if the car is not in the showroom and does not need to be purchased to order).

Please check the information regarding the availability of a vehicle passport, as car dealerships may delay the delivery of PTS for vehicles that are already in stock at the center. Don't trust what managers say.

Require documentary evidence. In any controversial situation, you can prove that you are right not with the words of a car dealership employee, but with the terms of the signed contract.

Request your copy of the contract after prepayment . The law clearly states: if a deposit is taken for the goods, the delivery date of the car is indicated in the contract.

The manager may not hand over a purchase and sale agreement, but a loan agreement. If a dissatisfied client later begins to refer to the law on the protection of consumer rights and demands a penalty for failure to meet the delivery deadlines for a car for which an advance payment has been made, the employee will say that there can be no claims under the loan agreement.

The procedure for registering a new car when purchasing at a car dealership, the necessary documents

Registration of a new car when purchasing at a car dealership is a standard procedure that includes performing certain actions. As practice shows, problems with documents and their execution occur quite rarely, however, you need to know the main stages in order to control the process and avoid any mistakes.

Everyone dreams of buying a new car, and the choice, as a rule, begins with determining the model. After that, you need to find a suitable dealership that offers a car of this brand at the lowest price. Today, in almost every city there are many different car dealerships, but it is better to buy vehicles from official dealers. This is the safest option, and cases of fraud are extremely rare.

To ensure the reliability of a particular car dealership, you can always read reviews about it on the Internet. It is also important to find out whether the seller offers after-sales service, what the conditions are and how good their services are. Collecting such information will provide a complete and objective assessment of the car dealership and its reliability.

If you have decided on a car dealership, then you need to go there and discuss the details of the purchase with an employee. In most cases, you can negotiate the price and get a good discount if the seller is interested in the client and wants to sell the car. First of all, you need to discuss the equipment of the car. If this model is available, you can always ask for a test drive and make sure of your choice. If a test drive is not available for the selected car, then you need to evaluate the vehicle at least in the showroom.

Next, you need to discuss the details of the transaction, the installation of additional equipment, the availability of discounts or gifts from the car dealership. When you come to an agreement and settle all the issues, you can proceed to the paperwork. Quite often, dealers offer their clients transaction support at all stages, which is a good bonus. How to properly register the purchase of a car and what needs to be done for this? Let's figure it out.

Design features of a new car

When buying a car, you need to fill out the documents correctly in order to be able to operate it. First of all, you need to draw up an agreement with the car dealership, and you will need 3 copies:

Please note that before signing the document to receive the car, it must be checked. Despite the fact that this is a new car, check all the numbers on the body and in the title. Also check the car for any defects.

After this you need to get insurance. Please note that from the date of purchasing the car you are given 10 days to issue a policy, but it is better to do this immediately. The fact is that if you get into an accident, you will have to repair the car and pay compensation to the other party involved in the accident from your own pocket. For this reason, it is best to take out an MTPL insurance policy immediately after purchasing a vehicle. The following documents are required for insurance:

  • PTS;
  • ID (a driver's license will do).

To obtain a policy, you must have a diagnostic card that confirms that you have passed a technical inspection. New cars are an exception, and therefore do not need to undergo maintenance. Take out insurance through MTPL and don’t worry about the lack of a diagnostic card.

The next step is to register the car with the traffic police. This must be done within 10 days after purchasing a car at a car dealership, and you need to contact the nearest branch at your place of residence. Please note that the amount of transport tax and fines that will be received for violating traffic rules depends on the place of registration.

To register a car, you must draw up and submit an application. By the way, you can do this online. In addition to the application, the following documents are required for registration:

  • PTS and its copy;
  • contract of sale;
  • insurance;
  • ID card (passport);
  • general power of attorney and its copy (if necessary);
  • receipt for payment of state duty.

For the issuance of new state license plates, the state duty is 2 thousand rubles. A registration certificate will cost 500 rubles. Registration of a used car is cheaper because you can keep the old license plates.

Important! Registration of a car after purchase at a car dealership is mandatory. If the car is not registered, you will have to pay a fine, and a repeated violation may lead to the deprivation of your driver's license.

Useful tips

Purchasing a car at a car dealership is the dream of many, since there will be no unpleasant surprises with this car. However, you need to know certain nuances of pricing and tricks on the part of sellers. You can often come across advertisements saying that some model is available for, say, 800 thousand rubles, and this is very profitable. A person comes to a car dealership and wants to purchase a vehicle for this amount. In fact, it is impossible to get it for 800 thousand rubles. Moreover, sellers are aware of this and deliberately use cunning.

The main goal of lowering the cost is to lure the client into the salon, and then it’s a matter of technology. A company representative will explain that there were only a few cars worth 800 thousand rubles, which have already successfully gone to happy buyers. However, there is another example that costs a little more but comes with better features. The praises and arguments of the car dealership employees are often enough for a person to turn a blind eye to the deception and buy a car at a higher price. This type of sale is quite common, and when they see a car in the showroom, buyers are much more likely to agree to unfavorable terms of purchase.

Another trick related to price is to indicate the cost in dollars or euros. On the one hand, this is normal, and many people are guided by prices in foreign currency. On the other hand, few people realize that the exchange rate at a car dealership may differ from the bank exchange rate. As a result, the buyer hopes for the same amount, but pays a little more. Unscrupulous sellers often resort to such tricks. Therefore, before transferring money and completing paperwork, find out the final cost in national currency.

A fairly popular way to buy a new car is trade-in. Its essence is that you trade in your old car and pay extra to get a new model. The advantage of this scheme is that there is no need to sell your car, waste time and effort. The car dealership will do this. Moreover, deregistration and re-registration also fall on the shoulders of the company.

Procedure after purchasing a car

If you have decided on the choice of a used car, all you have to do is re-register the documents from the seller to the buyer. In Russia, the procedure for further actions related to vehicle registration has changed. In this article we will tell you: what to do, what actions the seller of the vehicle should take, what documents, how to register, how to register, what is needed to register the purchased car. An important factor is the procedure that will tell you what to do after buying a car.

Check the car for legal cleanliness

Quite often, after buying a car, car owners are faced with problems such as: credit, arrest, accidents, accidents, theft, collateral or possible restrictions. This is due to a change in the procedure for deregistering a car with the traffic police. Fraudsters successfully use these changes, selling cars to honest citizens with similar problems that arise after the contract is signed and it becomes extremely difficult to resolve such a situation.

To exclude such situations, you need to check the car before registration using the online service "AvtoVin", in the full report you will have access to:

  • the number of owners who owned this vehicle;
  • checking for legal purity;
  • mileage at the time of maintenance;
  • photographs from various sources;
  • number of actual owners;
  • cases of accidents with the vehicle being tested;
  • customs history;
  • participation of the car in commercial transportation (cargo delivery, taxi work);

Pass a technical inspection (TO)

After purchasing a used car, be sure to check for maintenance. Without passing a technical inspection, you will not be able to obtain an MTPL policy. Even if the diagnostic card sheet was not found in the car, it is possible to check its presence using the AutoVin service. An unscheduled technical inspection is recommended only if for some reason the car has not been checked by specialists at a car service center. At the time of the maintenance, you will be informed about the condition of the car and what needs to be changed.

We take out insurance (OSAGO)

Every car owner is required to enter into an MTPL agreement, regardless of what brand his car is; driving a car without insurance is prohibited by law and such an offense is punishable by an administrative fine. Within 10 days after the purchase was made, the car can be operated under the policy of the former owner. To carry out state registration, you must insure the car. Next, insurance determines whether other people can drive the car.

We register the car after purchase with the traffic police

Innovations at the legislative level have tightened the period for registration with the traffic police after the purchase of a car by a new owner. The required registration of the car must be completed within 10 days from the date of execution of the purchase and sale agreement for a used car or a new vehicle. Information on how to register a purchased car with the traffic police is given below.

What documents need to be provided:

  • completed application;
  • passport of the future owner;
  • PTS;
  • PrEP;
  • license plate (if available, for a used car);
  • copy or original of the MTPL agreement;
  • If the car is registered not by the buyer, but by his representative, a power of attorney must be provided;

The procedure for registering a car with the state traffic police is as follows:

  • the listed papers are submitted in order of priority or by appointment;
  • the vehicle is inspected by a state traffic inspector;
  • issuance of registration certificate and registration numbers for the vehicle.

We put the technical condition of the car in order

After purchasing a used car, it is mandatory to service it and check all systems. To know what to change, you need to understand the technical condition of the car and how often it has undergone maintenance or diagnostics. Typically, a used car requires mandatory replacement of the following consumables:

  • filter elements for all systems;
  • technical fluids;
  • oils;

You should also check:

  • correct alignment installation;
  • wheel balancing.

For greater comfort, the interior is completely cleaned.

Before you start driving the purchased vehicle, you should study:

  • its operating instructions;
  • visit forums for this car brand;
  • find out the “sick” places.

To understand when and in what order the car is serviced. In this case, its operation will not cause any grief or unexpected breakdowns.

What to do after buying a car

If the search for an “iron friend” has been successful, it’s time to think about what to do after the purchase. Let's look at the necessary procedure.

Content

Checking the car

In previous articles, Autocode has already talked about how important it is to check a used car. Not long ago, the procedure for registering and deregistering vehicles changed in the Russian Federation. Now the owner of the car does not need to deregister it with the traffic police. And scammers are happy to take advantage of the new rules, offering buyers problem cars, which then, for various reasons, the new owners cannot register. And this, in turn, is fraught with the inability to drive a vehicle legally.

Therefore, even if you did not check the car before completing the purchase and sale transaction, do so immediately after. Checking using the Autocode service will show a detailed history of the car. In particular, you will learn information about:

  • number of former owners;
  • the presence of certain restrictions (arrest, bail, etc.);
  • the number of accidents in which the car was involved;
  • areas where the vehicle was used (taxi, cargo transportation, etc.) and other necessary information.

To check, enter the state number or VIN of the car into a special search form. It will take only 5 minutes to receive the data. The cost of the service is 349 rubles.

Let's consider further actions after purchasing a car.

We undergo technical inspection

What actions should you take after purchasing a used car? A technical inspection is mandatory for those new owners whose vehicles do not have a valid diagnostic card. Without this document, you will not be able to obtain an MTPL policy. And it never hurts to find out the real technical condition of the car. Of course, it makes more sense to do this before purchasing, but, as they say, better late than never.

We insure the car

Every car owner needs to become the owner of an MTPL policy. Otherwise, you will be denied state registration of your car. Here it is worth remembering one nuance: you can operate a used car with insurance issued to the previous owner. But! Only 10 days after purchase (from the moment the DCP was signed - the purchase and sale agreement).

Registering a used car with the traffic police

If previously, in accordance with the law, this action had to be completed within 20 days, now the requirements have become more stringent. The new owner is required to register the car within 10 days after purchase.

When contacting the traffic police, you cannot do without:

  • statements;
  • passports;
  • PTS;
  • PrEP;
  • state registration plate (if any);
  • MTPL policy (it is not necessary to present the original - a photocopy is sufficient).

In a situation where the car is registered not by the buyer himself, but by his representative, a power of attorney must also be submitted.

The procedure for registering a car includes the following steps:

  • submitting a package of necessary documents to the traffic police;
  • visual inspection of the car by a representative of the State Traffic Inspectorate;
  • issuance of license plates and vehicle registration certificates.

According to the rules that came into force in 2017, when registering a car using the State Services portal, you can optionally swap steps 1 and 2.

This is also a mandatory action that needs to be taken after purchasing a used car. No matter how much the former owner assures that everything is in perfect order with his “swallow”, do not skimp and spend money on:

  • replacing filters: air, fuel, oil, gearbox filter and fine filter (old owners often “forget” about changing consumables before selling a used car);
  • changing fluids: engine oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc. (90 percent of former owners do not do this before selling a car);
  • wheel balancing.

If necessary, perform a comprehensive cleaning of the interior after purchase. Most owners try to clean up the interior of the car before selling it (for example, trying to hide certain technical defects behind an external gloss). However, there are exceptions among them, those putting up for sale cars with a completely smoky and greasy interior. Driving in such a car will not bring much aesthetic pleasure.

It’s not at all superfluous to take action after purchase - carefully and thoroughly study the vehicle’s operating instructions. New cars have it anyway. If the seller did not give you this book when purchasing a used car (there are various reasons, for example, loss), purchase it. This must be done in order to obtain the information necessary for the correct use of the car. For example, about service intervals, the amount of antifreeze or brake fluid that will be required during replacement, and the location of key controls.
